Do you have what it takes?

The 2020 Clarence Valley Business Excellence Awards (CVBEA) are coming up fast and the Committee are putting the final touches on this year’s categories and setting up our new on-line entry portal in conjunction with the Northern Rivers Business Chamber.

Exciting times indeed as our entrants this year will complete their entries online making it easier to get those applications in.

It will also make it easier for our Judges. Right now, as we do every year, we are undergoing the renewal of our judging panel by seeking expressions of interest from local business people who would like to join our Judging Team and devote some of their time to assist us in recognising Business Excellence within the Clarence Valley.

Our Awards were first held in 2007 and acknowledge and showcase excellent businesses throughout the Clarence Valley. This year’s awards will receive entries over 12 categories with the winners of each category being eligible to progress to the Northern Rivers Regional Awards.

The objective of our Awards judging process is to fairly and independently evaluate each entry through a formal process which includes site inspections as well as assessing and scoring the online submissions.

Judging this year will occur during the month of June with Judges working in pairs and normally a new Judge will work alongside an experienced one. Judges need to be available for a Saturday morning meeting before the Judging/visiting month, the site visits in June and then another Saturday morning panel meeting to decide the winners.

A CVBEA Judge will be a business person, current or retired, experienced at middle or senior management level. They must be familiar with business planning, developing and implementing strategic marketing plans, have financial management knowledge, aware of WHS practices and other legislative requirements and how they impact business and has an understanding and awareness of industry sustainability practice.

As in all areas of our Awards program, confidentiality is essential and look forward to meeting with any interested parties who wish to give back to our community.

To find out more, please forward your Expression of Interest and your current CV by email to our Judging Coordinator at by COB Monday, 11th March 2020.
